The Admissions Counselor is a critical role within the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) Enrollment Services department. This position involves guiding prospective students through the admissions process. You will build relationships with students, school counselors and community representatives, and analyze admissions recruitment data to assist UAA in the goal of providing quality education. The Enrollment Services department as whole serves UAA by providing student services focusing on enrollment, admissions, financial aid, and more.
To thrive in this role, a successful applicant would possess strong written communication skills as evidenced by application materials.
Prior experience with public speaking as evidenced by application materials. Experience with reporting, data entry, and the ability to travel in and out of state, and to remote Alaska locations. You will also need the ability to work with populations from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited university, award prior to start date - UAA preferred.
Applicant must possess an unrestricted Alaska driver's license or be able to obtain an unrestricted Alaska driver's license within 60 days of accepting the job. -Knowledge of academic programs and support services at UAAPosition Details:
This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package . UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule , Grade 78, based on education and experience.
