Job Description

We are a group of people who share a similar passion: Finding the best products for the home cook. We consider ourselves service journalists, focused on helping people shop for ingredients and kitchen gear. We also help them use, clean and maintain it all at home. Our goal is to make cooking easier and more delicious. We produce our work through a combination of unbiased, scientific, hands-on testing, reporting, and independent lab testing.

We’re looking for a someone to join the Reviews team who will focus on testing products, writing about them, and working on our video and newsletter efforts.

Responsibilities Include:

• Researching products, contacting manufacturers and experts, and learning everything about what we’re testing
• Devising, running, and analyzing tests using our science-based system
• Close team collaboration with the team and across departments.
• Writing reviews that will be reach our ATK audience
• Documenting testing through photo and video
• Working with our photography team to create the art for digital and print stories
• Supporting stories as-needed after publication
• Uploading and formatting articles in the CMS
• Coordinating the team’s response to reader comments
• Providing production support for TV segments
• Contributing to the team newsletter, The Well-Equipped Cook
• Supporting the team’s social and YouTube video efforts
• Physically moving and organizing equipment and ingredients

Skills Required:

• We're looking for someone who is curious, organized, and detail-oriented.
• Strong reporting and writing skills with a keen ability to follow our style guide.
• You should have a strong interest in food and cooking and be able to competently follow recipes and duplicate results while working in our test kitchen, though professional cooking experience is not required.
• The job includes physical tasks such as lifting and unpacking heavy boxes.
• Strong problem-solving skills and flexibility with shifting priorities.
• The ability to work independently, stay on schedule, and prioritize effectively.

This position is located in our Boston, MA office in the Seaport district. It is the expectation that the person in this role will work a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) in the office and 2 days per week remotely.
