Job Description

1st Choice is seeking a dedicated and experienced Government Contract Recruiter that is located within the Greater Washington, D.C. area to work directly with our government contract division.  This is a remote role for a candidate that sits in the DMV and is crucial in sourcing, attracting, and hiring top tiered talent for our government clients working hand-in-hand with our business development and account executive team to meet proposal deadlines.   

 

Job Description and Duties:

  • Recruitment: Identify, interview, and recommend suitable candidates for local, state, and federal government clients and proposals.

  • Candidate Communication: Clearly convey requirements and duties to prospective candidates.

  • Database Management: Maintain and update candidate information in our Applicant Tracking System (ATS).

  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to recruitment policies, standards, and regulations.  Ensure compliance according to our client's specifications, verifying candidate's license numbers, education, certifications, etc.

  • Job Advertising: Promote job openings across various channels (job boards, careers pages, social platforms).

  • Collaboration: Coordinate with managers and clients to assess current and future hiring needs.

  • Virtual Events: Participate in virtual job fairs and organize recruitment events.

  • Screening and Assessment: Conduct pre-employment screening, including reference checks.

  • Process Design: Develop hiring procedures, including position-specific assessments and interview questions.

  • Relationship Building: Adept in building professional relationships with clients, candidates and our business development and account executive teams.  The ideal candidate will have already established network of highly qualified clinical candidates.

  • Strategic Planning: Assist in planning and implementing talent acquisition strategies.

  • Policy Development: Contribute to company policies related to talent benchmarking, assessment, and interviewing.

  • Sourcing: Actively source candidates to fill open positions.  Passively source to attract high caliber candidates needed to fill high profile roles quickly.

  • Proposal Recruitment:  Working against tight deadlines to sources and interview candidates, formatting resumes, and submitting  candidates to the business development team on schedule.

  • Organizational Analysis: Analyze organizational development and anticipate future employment needs.

  • Networking: Represent the company at events to build relationships with potential candidates.

  • Candidate Counseling: Advise candidates on corporate benefits, salary, and work environment.

  • Candidate Engagement: Maintain relationships with past and potential candidates.

  • Administrative Tasks: Manage candidate pools and handle hiring paperwork.  Entering all appropriate information into our ATS system in a timely manner.

  • Collaboration with HR and Marketing: Regularly communicate with HR and work with marketing to address challenges, or to request marketing materials when needed.

  • Market Intelligence: Proactively seek market insights to enhance attraction, assessment, and sourcing.

  • Innovation: Suggest new ideas for improving talent acquisition activities.

  • Industry Trends: Stay informed about talent acquisition trends in the staffing industry.

     

Required Skills:

  • Sourcing, recruiting, and interviewing for government contracts.  Comfortable with recruiting for proposals under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • 4+ years of staffing experience in the government sector.  Agency and corporate experience will both be considered.

  • Highly organized and efficient in time management.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines simultaneously.

  • Knowledge of recruitment and legal aspects of the hiring process.

  • Attention to detail with the ability to remained focused and when necessary, shift focus as per the demands of the business.

  • Hardworking, dynamic, and a team player.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Talent Acquisition Specialist (preferably 4+ years).  Recruiting for government contracts and proposals is mandatory.  Only candidates with more than 4+ years with this experience will be considered.  

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a relevant field (preferred).

  • Strong understanding of full-cycle recruitment processes.

  • Hands-on experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Impactful presentation style.

  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

  • Creative thinker and proactive problem solver.

  • Positive, “can-do” attitude.

     

Work Hours:Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
