The University of Dubuque is a growing faith-based University that is seeking a Graduate Assistant - Bookstore Manager Assistant for the 2024-2025 term, with a potential renewal for 2025-2026.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with the check in and processing of new merchandise and titles
Gain knowledge on the day to day bookkeeping and invoicing
Work with customers to fulfill their needs.
Responsible for taking inventory (new used books, merchandise control, profit margins etc.)
Learn and help maintain the web site (sales and product creation)
Support the rental program transition
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University's Mission
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree is required and the position is conditional based on acceptance into University of Dubuque Masters' program
Proficient computer skills (Excel spreadsheet, Outlook, Data entry technology, Word, and Internet)
Flexibility with schedule as need arises (ex. evening or weekend commitments)
Utilize excellent communication skills - verbal, written, and interpersonal
Ability to work with a variety of students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community professionals
Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple ongoing projects at a given time
Maintain a professional appearance
All graduate tuition is waived for the student for the term in which they serve as a GA. In return for a waiver of tuition, the assistantship recipient agrees to provide service to the University equivalent to twenty (20) hours per week.
