Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Marine Test Electricians for projects located in the Newport News, VA area . This is a first shift opportunity and the pay rate is up to $32/hour based on experience plus $120/day per diem for Travelers 60+ miles from the job site. Job Scope:
Troubleshooting electrical performance deficiencies
Reading schematics and determining the cause of the fault in the systems drawings and components
Working with electrical component systems, contractor relays, overload relays, transformers, terminal boards, LVR low voltage release and LVP low voltage protection
Test and inspect low medium and high voltage cable installations
Requirements
Minimum of 2+ years experience in the electrical field
Must be proficient in accurately reading and measuring with tools including tape measures and stick rulers
Expertise in reading and interpreting shipboard electrical installation drawings wiring tables schematics and work packages
Must have extensive knowledge of electrical theory
Solid understanding of LVR low voltage release and LVP low voltage protection
Proficient in reading and identifying equipment and component label plates
Experienced in lockout/tag out and hazardous energy control procedures
Physically able to climb vertical and inclined stairs and ladders crawl, bend, stoop, work at heights and work in confined spaces
