Police Records Specialist

$34.23 - $44.27 Hourly
Plus excellent benefits and 3% salary increases scheduled for July 2025 and July 2026.
The Police Records Specialist is a civilian, non-sworn position responsible for performing essential and sensitive administrative work in maintaining Police Department records, criminal information, and court documents. This position requires strong computer and organizational skills and attention to detail when processing and maintaining various police records, reports, statistics, and other related materials. Police Records Specialists interact daily with Town personnel, other law enforcement agencies, and the public. They must operate with complete confidentiality, diplomacy, and tact.Police Records Specialists staff the public counter at the Town's Police Headquarters and assist walk-in customers with completing various forms and applications and processing subpoenas, criminal complaints, citations, and warrants. Successful candidates in this position possess strong customer service and communication skills, a calm demeanor, and the ability to maintain composure when dealing with difficult, high-stress situations.
