Institute on Biology of Aging and Metabolism - Dr. Ming Xu
Several positions available in the Ming Xu laboratory in the Institute on the Biology of Aging and Metabolism. Xu's research program focuses on discovering fundamental mechanisms of aging. This laboratory employs novel animal models, primary human cells, and human tissues to investigate the roles and underlying mechanisms of cellular senescence in a variety of age-related conditions including frailty, compromised resilience, Alzheimerâ™s diseases, insulin resistance, bone loss, joint pain, infection, and others.
The Xu lab has sufficient long-term fundings (3R01s, multiple R21s and U54) as well as excellent lab environment. The Xu lab has published a number of studies in various highly impactful journals including Nature Medicine, Cell Metabolism, Nature Aging, PNAS, and Aging Cell. The full publication list can be found at . The candidates will be working on characterizing the role and underlying of senescent cells in age-related conditions. The candidate will join an exciting research environment in the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biophysics and the newly established Institute on the Biology of Aging and Metabolism at University of Minnesota. The position offers exceptional training in stem cells, aging, age-related diseases, cellular senescence, DNA damage and repair and molecular therapeutics.90% Laboratory Research
