Job Description

Under the direction of both Radiology and PCMC leadership this role is responsible and accountable for coordinating optimal, safe, effective and timeline access to Radiology services for patients in UCFS's inpatient and ED settings. This role will also work in collaboration with the PCMC staff (CPP/TC nursing, flow physician, transport, hospitality & financial counseling) to resolve flow barriers related radiology. The role will be responsible for supporting outcomes in radiology (turnaround times, scheduling inpatient and outpatient exams associated with discharge escalations) and track metrics/outcomes while aligning key radiology & PCMC metrics to support capacity & throughput efficiency. In addition, the Radiology Flow Officer is responsible for facilitating timely and appropriate communication between the care team and core/support services.

Given the visibility and interdisciplinary coordination of this role it will be key for the Radiology Flow Officer to have an active role in improvement efforts. This could include leading, supporting, or serving as a subject matter expert as part of continuous improvement efforts led by Radiology, PCMC and/or other departments within UCSF Health.

This role needs to have the flexibility to grow and develop with the evolution of the PCMC and the strategic direction of UCSF Health. Will be responsible for managing and coordinate care of patients requiring imaging services leading to a proactive approach to patient throughput.

The Radiology Flow Officer will be responsible for maintaining in-depth knowledge of throughput practices related to imaging and the data metrics associated with PCMC. Will act as a liaison to all other cross-functional operational/clinical departments for adults/pediatrics/network hospitals. The Radiology Flow Officer will be responsible for analyzing and meeting metric targets on strategies associated with PCMC required for health system growth.

This role will also stay up to date on current & future technologies related to imaging and PCMC to support capacity management & patient throughput. Will be responsible for understanding, implementing and educating stakeholders on current/future PCMC tools related to imaging services. The flow officer will identify workflow opportunities and potential needs while aligning an associated metric/outcome.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $212,558 - $232,039 (Annual Rate).
