Job Description

The Cambridge School of Weston is a private day and boarding school in Weston, MA. We are searching for a Strength and Conditioning Head Coach for the upcoming year season (9/1/24 – 6/12/24) . The Strength and Conditioning Head Coach must assume a major role in the design and implementation of strength training, conditioning, and flexibility programs in consultation with the head coach of each sport, fostering cooperation and positive teamwork, exhibiting outstanding sportsmanship, and most importantly, assume a major role in the development of our youth as future leaders.

Responsibilities:

• Accountable for the entire strength and conditioning program, and will oversee all aspects of the program, including, but not limited to, the safety and inventory of athletic equipment.
• Communicate with the Athletic Director concerning any incidents that come up in regard to student-athletes, coaches, or parental concerns.
• Supervise the development and implementation of strength, conditioning, and flexibility programs that meet the specific needs of each student-athlete and sport by designing both team and individual student-athlete programs.
• Work with an athletic trainer to ensure that the strength, conditioning, and flexibility programs are fully aligned with rehabilitation programs for injured student-athletes.
• Provide instruction and daily supervision of the technical aspects of lifting/training during scheduled workouts.
• Supervise all strength and conditioning facility operations, including daily inspection of equipment and necessary maintenance to ensure safe operations.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in fields related to exercise or health science
• Minimum of one year of full-time professional experience as a credentialed strength and conditioning coach in a Division 1, 2 or 3 collegiate or professional program
• Demonstrated credentials and membership of a nationally recognized strength and conditioning organization (NSCA or CSCCa).
• Current First Aid CPR and AED certification.
• Demonstrated experience in the design and teaching or strength training and conditioning theory and technique
• Demonstrated knowledge and ability to teach speed, agility, and flexibility training.
• Demonstrated understanding of basic nutritional guidelines as they pertain to athletic development.
• Demonstrated ability to identify strengths and deficiencies in student athlete’s technical and physical execution
