What To Expect
Tesla is seeking a Title Specialist to join our North America Trade-in and Used Vehicle team. This team is responsible for the overall business focused on the intake, refurbishment, and resale of all used Tesla and non-Tesla vehicles. We are a team that constantly challenges the status quo to revolutionize the trade-in and used vehicle purchase experience. As a Title Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring all trade-in/used vehicle titles are transferred from customers to Tesla in a quick and compliant manner. You will be responsible for executing unique vehicle title transfers for all 50 states, organizing then processing all incoming titles/documents for the NA market, auditing all documents for action/defects, applying for duplicate titles/corrected/branded titles with the state DMVs, and resolving more complex title issues as they arise.
In addition to high-volume administrative processing, you will also support internal communication and coordination tasks with other support teams to resolve any blockers in the title transfer process. This will require you to have excellent written and verbal communication skills, an ability to speak confidently, and navigate ambiguous problems with ease and minimum oversight. A deep understanding of the automotive industry, national/state DMV laws, and title regulations may not be required initially, but you will be required to learn and develop expertise over time.

What You'll Do Quickly become an expert in the vehicle title and registration process in all states. Physically open, organize, scan, file, and process a high volume of incoming mail/documents dailyCheck-in titles and documents in an internal database and audit the documents for completeness and accuracy. If any title or document issues prevent the transfer of title, log the defect in a digital case outlining the issueand path to resolution. Physically transfer ownership on all state titles which requires careful writing/signing skillsComplete DMV title applications for duplicates, corrections, brands. Organize and package titles daily toensure they are sent out to the correct auctions/buyers. Keep an organized workstationand become an expert in the team filing system methodologyManage multiple administrative tasksthroughout the day while remaining on task and focused. Log all tasks in the internal database and maintain acceptable productivity scores (tasks/hr.) on a consistent basisPrepare regional updates andpresent on aging title reports on a weekly basis to senior leadership. Research state DMV processes to identify quicker title transfer processesManage your email inbox and chatchannels to adapt processes to account for any updates provided. Create, manage, and edit reports in Microsoft Exce and internal data management systems. Communicate with internal andexternal stakeholders to resolve issues preventing title transfer. Work to gain full autonomy in your role and highlight areas of improvement to project management staff
